Chef Sasha The Boss is a Chicago-rooted independent artist creating grown R&B, neo-soul, smooth jazz, soft trap, melodic hip-hop, and sensuous storytelling for listeners who still believe music should make you feel something.
Love sits at the center of her artistry — romantic love, intimacy, desire, devotion, vulnerability, and the divine connection between two people. A writer and poet at heart, Chef Sasha turns real emotion and real-life experiences into music that feels warm, sensual, soulful, and deeply personal.
Her sound is shaped by generations of music. R&B and soul influences include Aaliyah, Jill Scott, India.Arie, Erykah Badu, Marsha Ambrosius, H.E.R., Ari Lennox, Tank, Trey Songz, Angie Stone, SiR, the Isley Brothers, Teddy Pendergrass, One Way, and R. Kelly. Her hip-hop side carries the energy of Chicago and the South through artists such as Twista, Snoop Dogg, Master P, Lil Wayne, UGK, Lil Jon & The East Side Boyz, Young Thug, and other Chicago rap influences. She also draws inspiration from jazz, Chicago stepping music, classic slow jams, 1970s soul, and soft rock.
